Today the Leigham Court Estate comprises over 2,000 dwellings but 125 years ago just one family and their servants lived here in one of the grandest houses in Streatham.
The original house was built c1822 for John George Fuller, part proprietor of Boodle's Club. It was designed by John Papworth and was intended to be the "country" venue for Boodles. However, Fuller decided to live there and in the early 1830s he built a second, and more magnificent, mansion alongside the original building.
