The Homecooks Project

Homecooks is a new project to connect Streatham's older residents with their neighbours founded by Streatham resident, Hattie Lambrou.

Homecooks puts people who like cooking (as Hattie does) in touch with an elderly neighbour who would appreciate some home- cooked food brought round from time to time, and the fledgling organisation is keen to hear from anybody who would like to get involved.

Martin Scorses's Goodfellas -Film and Vinnies Prison Pasta Special

This is a fundraising event in support of Advance 360 a local Streatham Charity that provides support, skills training and opportunities to those most vulnerable in our community. Come along for a very special Italian inspired evening where we shall be not only screening an iconic film but serving up the authentic prison pasta dish which appears in the film .There will be a vegetarian and gluten option if requested in advance.

Apple Days 2016 at Streatham Common Community Garden

After the great success of last year’s Apple Day event, Streatham Common Community Garden is holding an Apple Weekend this year on Saturday 22nd and Sunday 23rd October 12.30-3.30pm, in the Community Garden, which is next to the White Garden in the Rookery on Streatham Common.

Streatham Action are offering 6 awards of £500 funding each to residents with an idea to improve our local area via a Dragons' Den competition. Entry closes on 9th November, and finalists will be invited to present to the Streatham Dragons at the Hideaway in December.

All ideas must be based on making Streatham a better place to live, work or play. Streatham Action is particularly interested in ideas from or benefiting young people, but the competition is open to everyone. For more information, go to or call 07776 187581.
