Yoga’s ”National Treasure” in Streatham
Nell Lindsell is an experienced yoga teacher working in Streatham, Balham and Dulwich, and is well-known for her development of the concept of yoga for children through her company, YogaBugs. Nell and her business partner featured three times on BBC2’s Dragons Den, and as a result she was approached by the BBC's Cbeebies to choreograph the yoga postures for the Waybuloo series for children. The programme is now being shown in over 80 countries. Nell discovered yoga in India at the age of 25 and has since broadened her knowledge and deepened her understanding of yoga through working with three types of yoga: Iyengar, Asthtanga, Jivamukti and many national and international teachers.
She was the founder of London’s largest complementary Health and Yoga Centre (based in SW London) and ran it for 7 years. “Lindsell herself has become something of a national treasure, especially since she was appointed Yoga Consultant to the Waybuloo Team” said Ronnie Haydon in The Observer.
Nell moved to Streatham recently, and teaches a variety of classes locally. She has a dynamic teaching style, but adapts postures to push those who want to work hard, or modify them for newer participants. Nell also offers 3 gentle yoga classes for pre natal mothers, older adults and those recovering from injury or illness. One of her regulars told us “Tuesdays are a highlight of my week – stimulating, fun, flowing yoga followed by blissful final relaxation. Nell is a most professional and attentive teacher, effortlessly supporting our individual needs – her classes are a must!” Anne (Streatham).
Nell organises European and international yoga holidays (Sri Lanka, Morocco, Canary Islands, anyone?). Nell teaches in Streatham on Tuesday mornings and has classes at Balham Park GP Practice, Dulwich College at other times as well as her small group and one-to-one yoga classes.
