Streatham’s Gyms and Studios

When it’s gloomy and cold outside, exercise is a great an antidote to the winter blues, and Streatham has a huge range of indoor options for getting fit.

Old school Squat’s Gym has long been on the SW16 fitness map. It is a friendly unisex gym with all the weights and kit needed to build muscle and fitness. Three long-established gyms have indoor swimming pools; Virgin Active, Fitness First, and Streatham Ice and Leisure Centre alongside a comprehensive range of facilities and classes.

Recent additions include the highly rated (on Classpass and Mindbody) The Yoga Edge hot yoga studio (also offering accredited teacher training), Yogarise, and Element Fitness HIIT studio. They are all noted for building great communities and for quality instructors. The Gym Group is Streatham’s only 24/7 gym and is a popular low-cost facility.  Wellbeing95 deserves a mention as the only local studio offering Aerial yoga.  Jodie Relf, a registered dietitian and Pilates instructor, founded BalancedJo to help people find balance while trying to live a healthier life through a combination of good nutrition, exercise and mindfulness. She teaches a Pilates class on Wednesday evenings at Streatham Space Project

2020 has exciting new openings with F45 global network specialising in HIIT just opened in Streatham Hill, and Energie Fitness opening 1st March near Pratts and Payne. Energie Fitness is a low-cost gym with a full range of the latest equipment, HIIT area (“The Yard”), classes, yoga and Zumba from £19.99 a month with Personal Training available too.
