Apple Days 2016 at Streatham Common Community Garden

After the great success of last year’s Apple Day event, Streatham Common Community Garden is holding an Apple Weekend this year on Saturday 22nd and Sunday 23rd October 12.30-3.30pm, in the Community Garden, which is next to the White Garden in the Rookery on Streatham Common.

All are welcome at this family friendly FREE event and people are encouragd to bring along apples or pears from their own gardens so that we can press them for fresh juice, turn some of them into cider, and possibly try our hand at making cider vinegar too. Don’t worry if you don’t have any fruit to bring along, come along anyway - there will be lots of jobs to do and plenty of fresh fruit and juice to sample.

Come and see how our fruit garden is maturing and take a look at the Orchard, which has been re-planted by volunteers over the last two years.

If you can't make Apple Weekend, but  have excess applesto donate, they can be dropped off at the Community Garden any Wednesday or Sunday afternoon or any Friday morning prior to the Apple Weekend.

Following the success of last year’s event, we’re planning to run our popular annual Wassailing in the Orchard in early January.

There will be another community tree planting day and a pruning and fruit tree care day later in the year (dates to be announced), so check out our website for up and coming events, or sign up for our free newsletter at www.streathamcommoncommunitygarden.org.
